Title: Biomarker Research in ADHD: the Impact of Nutrition part 2 (2nd BRAIN)

Duration: 2024 - 2026
Researchers: Joris Meurs, Simona Cristescu
Funding: Porticus
Project partners: Wagening University & Research

ADHD is a developmental disorder characterised by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. It has been shown that a few-foods diet (FFD) has a positive (i.e. reducing) impact on ADHD symptoms. During this study, the mechanistic behind FFD and ADHD will be investigated across the gut-brain axis.

The Life Science Trace Detection Laboratory is responsible for collecting and analysing the breath samples in order to find exhaled gut microbiome VOCs that are indicators of response to FFD.
